This is another fantastic movie that had slip through the cracks of greatness due to uncomfortable content. A few recent films have treated the dysfunction attendant upon the death of a child to a loving couple. John Irving's A WIDOW FOR ONE YEAR was an epic, sprawling story of one woman's crisis, collapse and redemption, and though the story span some 35 years it was tight enough in the novel to make an extraordinary movie.
