+ movies that are slightly off kilter (Stranger Than Fiction, Lost in Translation, Little Miss Sunshine, The Royal Tenenbaums, Amelie)
+ Japanese dancehall (MOOMIN, Megaryu, Pushim, RYO the SKYWALKER)
+ non-fiction that reads like a novel (Devil in the White City, Thunderstruck, The Professor and the Madman)
+ humorous social commentary (Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, anything by David Sedaris)
+ ridiculous kitchen gadgets made specifically to perform only one function -- the kind you find at Sur la Table or Williams Sonoma
+ comic books and graphic novels -- this one I'm pretty unfamiliar with but would definitely like to discover more about
