This series took five years to complete and it was definitely time well spent. Awesome footage of nature at its finest ... really makes you see the world in a whole new light.
Ever wonder if a magic bullet made out of ice is really possible? Do you know how to escape from a sinking car? Can a toy car can beat a Dodge Viper in the 1/4 mile? This show puts all these questions to the test and then some. Plus, they blow stuff up. A lot.
Sometimes it stresses me out just watching but ... I want to be on this show! Even if I don't win the $1 million, at least I'll have traveled to some pretty awesome places and done a ton of things I'd probably never otherwise have a chance to experience. Although let's be honest ... the $1 million sure wouldn't hurt.
Basically every season he has one REALLY bad day. His family gets kidnapped while he's saving the president of the United States from an assasination attempt ... the government needs his help to stop a nuclear bomb from taking out the city of Los Angeles ... there's a bio terror threat that only he can resolve ...
Can one man really handle all these crises within 24 hours? He can if he's Jack Bauer.
It's a Japanese game show. Need I say more? There are crazy obstacle courses, even crazier contestants in ridiculously absurd costumes ... all this for the honor of being crowned "Ninja Warrior".
Bear Grylls is no joke. And definitely someone I'd want on my team in any survival situation. The guy eats yak eyeballs and jumps naked into icy rivers. Seriously? Even if you only ever pick up one thing watching this show, you just upped your chances of surviving the wild.
I love that with all the strange things he's put in his mouth (half-developed chick embryo, fried barbequed scorpions ... he once visited a restaurant that only served various preparations of the penises of animals!) the one thing he had trouble swallowing was stinky tofu.
This show kept getting stranger and stranger as the seasons wore on and it seemed like the writers were searching for a good resolution to all the funky mysteries and complex story lines they wove. But it still has me hooked. Time travel ... the whole Jacob thing. I mean, don't you want to know how it's all going to end?
How many years has it been now since she's worked in the mecca of all things beautiful and vapid and still manages to retain her individuality and unique "sense of style"? But I guess that's the point, right? I get it. Although I have to say, my favorite characters are still the Mark and Amanda combo.
Hugh Laurie as House is the epitome of a crotchety old man ... sarcastic, rude, and completely inappropriate. But for some reason that just makes me like him more.

Planet Earth is a great #1. I've never seen "Ugly Betty"...is it a comedy? If so what is the humor like? I wonder if I'd be into it..
i LOVE bizarre foods + planet earth! though I have to say both shows tend to to always be on so I never tivo them. not that I have tivo.
