'101 Quick and Easy Secrets to Create Winning Photographs' is EXACTLY what the title says it is and THAT is a good thing!! The approach is simple enough but I hadn't seen a cookbook like this before for photography and I was very happily surprised! This is a nice beginning photography book that covers many important aspects of photography. I was expecting it to be very "technical" because it was labeled a "reference" textbook, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was written more casually and went much "deeper" than many beginner photo books. I think this is because the author concentrates a lot on covering artistic concepts in addition to technical explanations. As should be obvious from the title this book is a collection of tips for taking better images. Composition, lighting, perspective, camera settings, polarizing filters and post processing (Phototshop) all get their due. For the novice or intermediate photographers who wonder why their shots just don't look as good as they thought they ought to, it should be of great help.
