Although I read it in high school, I think of it now as a period piece.
Although dark, as the Brontes tended to be, still a classic.
Another one of those books that should be given at birth. The quintessential children's classic.
Another absolute children's classic, too long ignored.
I actually read all three books over a winter. Good read, not for fans of the superficial.
"Believe me my young friend there is nothing half as much woth doing as simply messing about in boats". Always a classic.
Not his best, but gives a taste of the genre.

You simply have to read it. The descriptions are so detailed that I can remember the scene in the room full of napping girls even now.
