Here is my recipe for the Whiskey Sour:
Whiskey Sour
1 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 1/2 oz lemon juice 3/4 oz
1 tsp simple sugar
1 Maraschino Cherry
Pour the bourbon, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a metal shaker with ice cubes.
Shake until the shaker chills Strain into a chilled glencairn glass.
Garnish with the cherry.

The whiskey sour is a famous mixed drink containing Bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, sugar, and optionally a dash of egg white to make it a Boston Sour. It is shaken and served either straight or over ice. The traditional garnish is half an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
