I often find claims of something being the "best" or "finest" to be dubious, at best. When I was traveling in Guatemala and was told that Ron Zacapa was the "best rum in the world," I brushed it aside, as typical exaggeration or marketing puffery. That was, until I tasted it. Wow. I don't consider myself an expert like ArcticWolf or ForestCokely. I'm more of casual, social liquor fan. But even a novice like me could appreciate this fantastic rum.

Ron Zacapa can be fond in 15, 23 and XO varieties. The 15 is aged between 5 and 15 years, the 23 between 6 and 23 years, and the XO between 6 and 25 years. They are all excellent. I feel the XO is smoother and sweeter than the 23, and makes for an excellent after dinner drink... almost like drinking a fine cognac.
Not only is Ron Zacapa great to drink, their great looking bottles make an excellent, eye-pleasing addition to any bar.
Overall, a top notch brand of rum and a true pleasure to enjoy on special occasions.

I like this kind of rum; however, I can't drink it in great quantity . Perhaps, a sip only is possible right now.

The Ron Zacapa 25 year Solero and the 23 year old solero are two of the finest rums I have tasted!

It's available in the states, and I'm seeing it pop up in more and more places, so they may be expanding their export business. Hopefully you'll see it in your neck of the woods soon.
