Beam Up Some Halloween Fun

  • Oct 11, 2010

I love attending science fiction conventions.  I also love all of the costumes that fans wear.  From simple homemade get-ups to top dollar replicas, costuming is a hobby that has really taken off.  Personally, I've thrown together two costumes of my own (one being Ozzy Osbourne and the other being Doctor Octopus).  Granted, neither of these costumes could ever win a contest, but they've definitely given me the costuming bug.  Here's a list of characters and creatures from Star Trek that I'd love to dress up as for Halloween or for a sci-fi convention.  Who do you want to be??

I believe I could pull off a Sybok costume. I'd need a little bit of help in the hair department, but I'm pretty sure I could look very close to the real deal on the screen. Oh, and since Sybok is the main villain in one of the most reviled Star Trek films, I'm sure I'll get a few hisses and boos from hardcore trekkies!!! He, he, he!

Captain Jean Luc Picard
Okay, this one would be a stretch for me since I'm quite a bit chubbier than Jean-Luc will ever be. Maybe I'll play it safe and just dress up as a generic Starfleet captain.
Red shirt
Quite possibly the easiest costume of the bunch. All I need is a red shirt from the classic series, some black pants, and plenty of bad luck.

What did you think of this list?

You'd only get to wear the red-shirt once though--you KNOW what happens to them!

Hah, very nice. I've never done Star Trek for Halloween, but I might start with the red shirt, =]

Just don't go trick-or-treating with a guy named Kirk or Spock and you should be okay!

Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork. I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA. I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.I love my home state … more
