Star Trek Openings

  • Nov 3, 2011

Star Trek has been on TV for years and years and with every new series comes a new opening credit sequence. This is a list of them all .

Star Trek
Obviously I wasn't born in the 60s hell even my mother wasn't born in the 60s. It has the bumpy very upbeat 60s style of music (based on what I know) and the visuals were.................well i don't wanna say not very good cause I haven't really seen much 60s era special effects, so I will just was they were good.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Star Trek The Next generation Came on During the 80s and early 90s so its one of the Star Treks i never really followed. Even when i eventually got into the series TNG was not one I was really interested in.

Needless to say the opening could be considered very nostalgic as its basically an updated version of the TOS opening. While the visual were in my opinion "meh" the music was lively and energetic. It had a certain optimistic exploration feel to it. Almost like the crew are truly "boldly going where no man has gone before"

Star Trek Deep Space 9
I never watched DS9 much but thanks to SPACE channel I'm slowly catching up. This is my second favorite Star Trek opening, this time though its just the music. Despite its dark tone DS9s opening its lively and majestic. To me it has an "everything is gonna be alright" feel to it.

Star Trek: Voyager
One of my all time favorite Star Trek openings. This one was a Win-Win for me as I loved the visuals and the music went perfect with it. The part where the Star comes out from behind the planet and the part where Voyager is flying above the planets rings you cant help but feel a scence of wonder while watching it

Star Trek: Enterprise
Ok Trekkies or Trekkers what ever you guys call yourselves these days, please don't track me down and chop my head off but I actually really like this opening. I know its not that magnificent orchestral piece your used to but with this one its in the lyrics. If you listen to the song you will know that it goes perfectly with the setting and the tone of Star Trek Enterprise.

I find it inspirational and it has a hopeful outlook to the future of humanity. Its a great

Now the Alternate timelinwe theme was the complete opposite and a little more intune with the traditional Star trek themes. Either way I love em both.
