The episode was great, it had an insane villain who would surely wipeout whoever he felt like. He took full advantage of any situation with Kirk and Spock. It's one of my favorite episodes "Whom Gods Destroy" but in spite of all of that, I still remember most fondly the sexy thing wearing barely lingerie with the green skin from this episode, one Orion Animal Woman slave, Marta.
Played by Yvonne Craig who is best known for playing Batgirl, Marta is so unabashedly crazy/sexy with her cavorting, poetry SHE came up with and not some guy named Shakespere and attempted to seduce Kirk. Kirk, the galaxies ladies man has her in his arms and when Kirk rebuffs her, she tries to stab him. Give Kirk some points she is bat sh** insane (pun intended) and looks do not make up for a poor or crazy attitude. For more on this see Megan Fox, it doesn't matter how great you look your attitude plays a big part.
Marta even has a memorable death scene where she is taken out into the poisonous planet's exterior and chokes on the air outside, but the villain of the episode is "kind" to her and blows her up with a tiny explosive the size of a grain of salt. He also just happens to have a whole salt shaker of the stuff at his disposal. If blowing up the hottest thing on two feet on this planet doesn't make you a bad guy, then NOTHING WILL!!
While she was another one hit wonder on the original show, the impression her character left, what the character does in that time with a dash of good looks made Marta a cool character.
Seriously, claiming her poem was written by herself and NOT Shakespere with a straight face? You rock you green girl.
