This one really brought a different world and its issues into focus and brought them to life.
A powerful novel that is worth every second it takes to read it.
Good but so dismal and punchguts in mood it doesn't have a lot of re-read value to me. If I want to remind myself of Afghani women's difficult lives, I'll prefer real women's stories.
The book starts of introducing 2 boys Amir and Hassan, the book revolves around the fact that Amir flies a kite and how when he win's how Hassan protects his kite. Amir win's his fathers affection …
Even I–who usually tries to steer clear of the groupthink of bestseller lists and the like–was vaguely familiar with Hosseini and his book The Kite Runner. Its major selling …
I guess it was okay, but the narrative just seemed too clean... I didn't really like how everything is so perfectly resolved.
I can't believe this book is so low rated. It was wonderful and sad. The true life story of a a woman's struggle in the middle east kept me riveted.
Wonderful! A Thousand Splendid Suns by Hosseini was even better if that's possible!
The Kite Runner was definitely not a fluke! This guy can write! :) This book will make any American woman count her blessings while once again opening that curtain for us to peek into Afghan culture.
What an eye opener!!! This book gives great insight into middle eastern culture while telling a gripping and heart wrenching story. A must read.
His first book, Kite Runner, told such a horrific story that I was afraid to read his second book but I'm so glad I finally did. Also a story of hard lives, but with so much grace stemming from the relationship …
A hard book to read. Painful story but so well written.
Great book! Fantastic story and brilliant prose. A must read for anyone trying to undersstand Afganistan.
The Kite Runner was a nice experience as an audio book.
This is one of my favorite books! Very sad but very good. Loved it!!!!
This was a good book but very sad. I think the main character was a wimp!
That scene where Amir watches and is too scared to aid Hassan is priceless. For me this book was too emotional. It left me feeling much like a roller coaster that doesn't give you enough time to pause …
Good insight onto a historical fiction book about Afghanistan
One of my favorite books. Tells such an incredible story. Parts of it were sad and hard to read, but overall it is a great tale. MUST READ!
A great look into another culture. Shows you a side of the country that the tv war news doesn't
Really opened my eyes to the life and horrors in Afghanistan
This book is about friendship, sacrifice, exploration and a different world (for us at least)
A good but very disturbing book...
gripping, excellent characters, something you don't hear about much in press or movies, at least the human side of it
