Desperation and, well, misery, fill this book. In a good way, though. One of the few King novels that didn't seem to run out of steam in the latter half, Misery is a compelling and terrifying read.

Another one of Stephen King's best efforts. Some really great and memorable characters, and a really well-developed story arc with a really good climax (which is a little bit unusual for King).

Possibly Stephen King's (long-winded) best. There are a lot of really great scenes, and the way he shifts between the two more or less separate narratives works really well.
if you are wondering wich one is better, the movie ore the book. I can say both have the same impact. Beautiful story. I love to read something edifying like this.
