I am a true Indian food groupie. As such, I crave it about once a week. So, when I moved back to Minnesota from Chicago (a haven for amazing Indian restaurants), my taste buds were dearly craving a bit of spice. I found India Palace through a Google search and though I was skeptical about the quality of a suburban ethnic restaurant, I was more than pleasantly surprised.
India palace is clean and decorated in minimalistic manner with assorted paintings on the walls. Their waiters are polite and timely, and most importantly the food is fantastic! I am big Chicken Tikka Masala fan and I really enjoyed their version of the dish. The sauce had more a tomato base and less cream than I'm used to, but the "lighter" taste was refreshing.
I recently went to their Sunday lunch buffet ($10.99 all you can eat) and their assortment ranged from Chicken Tikka Masala to Chicken Korma (a combo of cashews and raisins), potato Samosa (flakey and sooo yummy), Naan, and Alu Gobi (made of cauliflower and potato). The Alu Gobi is hands down my new favorite vegetarian dish. Their buffet lasts from 11am-2:30pm and I do recommend going early. It seems the chicken dishes tend to dry out a bit under the heat lamps.
For veterans or newbie's to Indian food, India Palace has just the right amount of tasty kick. It's a true curry delight.
