Working as long as I have in retail, there is one thing that I will never get over. When you see that shelf for merchandise to go, why do you think it's a place for your GARBAGE?! I've seen kids leave whole Styrofoam trays of CRAP lying around on shelves, empty coffee cups and soda cans among other things. I've caught and called out some people doing this and the response is always the same "Well there are no garbage cans around." Any checkout station has them, just give them to the clerk and they'll be happy to throw them out for you since they aren't picking up after you like a child. Amazing.
Thats one side to littering. Heres the other side and the more common and damning one is littering outdoors. Picnics on the beech or the park, people can be pretty careless in leaving they're junk lying around afterword. If your going to use the land, then you should take care of it. It's not a hotel where you leave a mess and someone cleans up after you.
One day, and it will be sooner then we think, we won't be here but someone or something else will be or at least here still. If they don't have hands then I don't see them picking up our mess. If they don't have brains, I don't see them making a creation to pick up our mess. I guess the moral of this review is, don't make a mess. This started off me complaining about lazy customers who leave junk lying around and it got me to talk about a bigger picture.
Wikipedia defines litter as "waste that people unlawfully dispose of out of doors. It can be packaging or other unwanted items. Litter can be vandalism, carelessness, or inadvertence. Littering is when you throw your trash, cigarette butts, or any other refuse that's not thrown in the appropriate receptacles (ie. trash can or recycling bin).
