A true hero that was loyal to Harry through thick and thin. While he was often used for comic relief, there's no questioning the love he had for his friends.
The first of a series of adventure and magic. This one packs in quite a bit and introduces the children and highlights on their friendship. Great moments during the chess game. These kids act well!
I just watched this movie again on the TV. It was better than I had remembered! Courage, wit and quite a bit of surprises... that's what are so great about Harry Potter movies. Love it! Dobby appeared in this one quite a bit. It's been some 8 years and I've almost forgotten about all the previous Harry Potter movies. However, it's truly nice to watch it again! Harry Potter is a lot … more
Despite the fact that so many people dislike this volume of the Harry Potter series, this is actually my favourite film out of all of them, mostly because of the end scene at the ministry, the general mix of heartfeltness and humour, and the addition of Umbridge as a secondary villain. I loved Imelda Staunton's performance in this role, as she encompassed Umbridge from the books pretty well. … more
Out of all the Harry Potter films so far, this one is definitely the funniest. Not to say that it isn't dark or doesn't have any action, but there's more comedy in this than in the other films. This is also my fourth favourite film in the new wave and my fifth favourite all together. Like the other five films, this installment introduces some new characters while still keeping the old … more
Cute and intelligent as a child, he has grown with us for the last decade. A teenager now, Harry Potter is about to end his journey next summer. For those of us who have not read the books, it's probably good to get the entire series of books for Christmas present; a gift to ourselves for having grown with Harry Potter for the last 10 years! It is certainly quite a journey in the real world as well … more
The house elf that renders touching moments in the latest Harry Potter film (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1), Dobby reminds me of E.T. and how great it is to believe in one's master. Dobby's loyalty is commendable! What an adorable elf!
A brilliant film without regard to being part of the HP series. It captured the darker and moodier facets of the novel which made it perhaps more mature than the intended audience (of early teens anyway).
In his fourth year at school, Harry Potter (Dan Radcliffe) unwittingly becomes involved in the infamous "Tri-Wizard Tournament," wherein champions from Hogwarts and two visiting wizarding schools face frightening challenges in the hope of winning eternal glory. With help from his buddies Ron and Hermione, Harry battles dragons, survives underwater, and faces a terrifying … more
The last chapter in the Harry Potter book was fast paced, exciting, and held my attention. It also provided closure to the Harry Potter series for me. The reason I love The Deathly Hallows is because it never got boring for me. Page after page there was always something going on, even if it was the death of a few of my favorite characters. I also enjoyed how … more
This series truly masters your emotions. Its based in modern-day England. A young boy named Harry Potter discovers that, much to the dismay of his evil aunt and uncle, he is a wizard. And that instead of his mom and dad dieing in a car crash, the evil Lord Voldemort killed them, and, when trying to kill Harry, could only give him his lighting shaped scar before 'dying' … more
