I can watch reruns of this show every day, in fact I do, loved the movie and am hoping they come out with another one! This show was so groundbreaking on multiple levels but, the top of the list is that I hadn't seen any show that represented the way I talked with my friends about sex, love, life, work, everything else before SATC.
True Blood, where do I start? I love this show for so many reasons- I love the fact that they introduce different mythical beings (who knew what a maenad was before Maryann?) instead of relying on vampires. But, their portrayal of vampires is incredibly intriguing and as @lyssachttr said in her True Blood review, they treat the whole vampires vs human saga as a civil rights issue.
This show is beautiful, everything about it is just beautiful. It is set in Botswana, based on the bestselling novels by Alexander McCall Smith, and stars Jill Scott as Precious Ramotswe who moves to Botswana to open up her first ladies detective agency amidst a storm of laughter, tears, doubt, love and loss. After every show, your left feeling grateful that you got a glimpse of the real Africa and its people.
I love this show because it so perfectly encapsulates everything that is Hollywood. Living out in LA and being "in the scene", I think that Entourage hits "the industry" and all of its players spot on. Marky Mark, aka Mark Wahlberg, is the Executive Producer and, allegedly, the show is based on his life after moving out here with his friends.
The Sopranos, I friggin' love the Sopranos, capiche? I should say my disclaimer here: I friggin' love mob movies, so I am biased but, The Sopranos always kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more.
Another first for me, I thought it is so interesting to get an inside look into a polygamist culture. Now, yes, I know this is TV and not real but, in true HBO chutzpa fashion, the network once again pushes the boundaries and pulls us into something we've never seen on TV before.
