Blue Man Group ... are they truly blue?

  • Dec 1, 2009
I first came across the ads for Blue Man Group in Berlin in 2006 during the World Cup. Wanted to catch the show but it was way too late in the night and the earlier shows were sold out. Came across Blue Man Group again in Las Vegas the next year. They were performing at the Venetian & I got a ticket for free due to my showing up at the Planet Hollywood's promotional sale speech (for an hour or so) of their condos on Las Vegas Boulevard. To make the story short, I got it in exchange of 1.5 hour of my time. That was a ticket for about $100 or so. If you've 2 attendees, then it's a total of $200! Not a bad deal and to be fair, the timeshare condo isn't bad either. Unfortunately, since I don't reside in this part of the world, I'm not into buying something that I won't be using. There are better investments out there in the world! It's no wonder Donald Trump went bust again!

Now back to the basics... an entertainment show in Las Vegas for 2 hours or so.
Blueman group is hilarious and they do perform their tricks and made many laugh. In Las Vegas though, there are simply too many choices of shows to be in. My advise is that if you're not getting it for free, or if it's not your 5th or 6th time in Vegas, go for Cirque du Soleil's "O" and Le Reve first. They are the best of the lot while for the Blueman, you can always get them later elsewhere. IMHO, for $100 it's hyper expensive when it's simply a cast of 3. That's why they are simply getting a +4 rating here. On its own, Blueman is great. Comparatively, it lacks the Umph or Wow factor.

To be fair, for those who are not particular, you don't even need to go to a show and pay the huge ticket fare for this performance. Blue Man Group's can be enjoyed over the screen, as far as I'm concerned. See it for yourself in these videos and make your own decision if you need to pay $100 just to see them!

Wow, Sharrie, you seem to be show hoppin' all over the place! Blue Man, Cirque du Soleil, operas, musicals... wow! I've yet to understand the appeal of timeshare, but at least you got a Blue Man Group ticket out of it. Sounds like a blast!
