A Quick Tip by Sharrie

Just as I was about to leave China for good, I chanced upon this Chinese version of the Got Talent series. The talent show (达人秀) is not only entertaining, humorous but also highly inspiring. The first time I saw it last night was the 2nd year in running (ie Series 2) and the 5th episode. It seems that the embed videos will autoplay so I suggest that you pause all of them first and watch them in order.

Some of the highlights which you must watch (if you understand Mandarin) are:

The 12 year old Mongolian kid singing in Mongolian, missing his mom who passed away when he was 8. His dad died in a car accident later. Hence, he's an orphan. This kid is so adorable. It is heartrending; life hasn't been fair to him at all!

The young girl who learned piano for 2 years but without fingers in one hand! Just awesome!

The lady who sold vegie in the market & sang Pavarotti's song (her market version). It was hysterical (the lyrics) and yet she was full of talent. Oh my... you must listen to her!

The lovers who against all odds show what it means to love.

There are more but what's remarkable in this show is there are hopes, laughters and inspirations from the many contestants who each have their stories to tell. I wish I've come across it much earlier!!!
