A Quick Tip by woopak_the_thrill

Re-edited, Re-mastered and presented in HD, the classic adventure series DragonBall Z is re-issued to correct the mistakes it had made in the original series. It gets rid of 'fillers' (remember when we thought that DBZ took too long to get to its point?) and what results is a more compact, suspenseful and exciting storyline filled with intense battles. The first "Kai" re-issues begins from the first episode up to the defeat to Freiza.

The first season covers that much? Sounds interesting but I don't see myself shelling out anymore cash to DBZ. Time will tell.

It was playing in CW 44, then I was motivated to buy the sets. The first batch I believe is season 1-3. It is more compact and faster paced. The battle with Vegeta and Frieza was more exciting imho.

I wonder how they manage to pull that off. I'm betting Funimation is banking on people to already be famliar with it. When you have these stories with so much filler in original form, and injecting crucial portions of the plot inbetween, I can imagine something being lost in the slicing and dicing.

Actually the director and the original fimmakers did the re-issue in Japan. They listened to their critics and how some people said that it had a lot of fillers. I think for some of the fillers, they used flashbacks or something. It was effective. It became a more action-oriented and exciting re-issue.
