As a recent subscriber to Direct TV, I have found that I spend a good amount of time watching the SciFi Channel. There seems to be a good mix of classic Science Fiction programming as well as more modern offerings to new and very innovative programming.
I DO love all my old favorites from when I was a child such as Lost in Space. I'd not seen it for years and had truly forgotten how much I loved that program when it was first run.
I'va also had the opportunity to catch up with the more modern Outer Limits series. I'm not sure how I've missed that one, but I'm making up for lost time. There are quite a few interesting productions. What I don't care about in that particular series is that many of the shows have a twist at the end that is less than happy. Not every story has a happy ending, but I'm sappy enough to appreciate them. Life presents enough challenges! I've also caught Brimstone, which I managed to miss on the mainstream network programming. That's a pretty interesting and well done show.
Something VERY exciting happened on Sunday. This channel showed an episode of the original Twilight Zone series that I had never seen. I truly thought that at this point that I had seen all of them at least ten times. This was a totally amazing and delightful surprise.
Some of the new and original programming is interesting. I've not yet gotten very fond of First Wave although it has potential. I've seen one episode of LEXX three times and it was a hoot, but I'd sure like to see a different show.
What's missing? Well, my world would be a lot neater and more orderly if Stargate SG1 was on SciFi, but until it is, I'll still turn the channel to catch THAT one!
