Our household has a scary habit of not watching the same shows week after week when they air, but waiting for entire seasons to finish and then holding some insane weekend marathon to catch up with the whole thing.      This has two side-effects:   Weekends are cheap We (think) we spot series formulas, ripoffs and parallels fairly quickly, although sometimes our theories are a stretch. I'm not much of a television watcher. No 'Idol,' 'Survivor,' or any 'bah-bah,' you know, that sound that comes on before those unstoppable series of spin-off CSI shows. But, once a decade, a show comes along that I anticipate every Thursday.
