A television series created by Joss Whedon and starring Sara …
I didn't see that many good films in 2010. In fact, the only other two good ones that I saw besides this are Scott Pilgrim and Inception. I saw this with my oldest brother on his birthday, and I was one of three females in the theatre, and definitely the only one who looked like I was enjoying myself. I definitely was, because The A-Team was a really fun movie.
The purpose of all movies is not just to educate. Some are made to entertain, like the likes of this and Prince of Persia. If you try to get a deeper meaning out of it, then it's not fun anymore. This is an incredibly fun movie, and captures the essence of the show perfectly. Loud, action-packed, and thrilling. I never watched much of the show, but from what my father and oldest brother told me, it was pretty awesome.
In terms of the acting, it really wasn't that great, but the A is for action, not for acting. Despite that, the film was very well cast, especially Liam Neeson as Hannibal. Sharlto Copley was a fantastic choice for Murdoch, even though I thought that he wouldn't be that good. When I was wondering who they would cast for Face, my first choice was actually Bradley Cooper, and he did a really good job as well. Even newcomer Quinton Jackson didn't suck. As for Jessica Biel, she was entirely pointless, did not convey a powerful female role model at all despite the fact that she was in a position of authority, and her sole purpose was for Bradley Cooper to have someone to make out with.
The action scenes, however, were absolutely fantastic. I won't give too much away for those who actually want to see the movie, but needless to say, in one of them, they fly a tank. It may sound ridiculous just saying it, but when you see it, it strangely starts to make sense and seem plausible. Also, the rest of the action is fantastic. Like i said, the a is for action, not acting.
This movie is just a ton of fun to watch, and anyone who likes balls-to-the-wall action films is definitely in need to see this movie if they haven't already done so. For other people, it depends on your personal tastes. I just warn you that this movie is marketed towards men, so certain types of women (like the other two in the theatre) might not like this movie. But it's still a great action film that satisfies the one thing it was meant to: to entertain the audience.
