Still the lamest, silliest, yet the most fun live-action TV series I’ve seen as a kid in the 70’s. This was a product of its generation, where movies didn’t have the CGI technology we have now; when actors had stunt doubles and camera trickery were done through editing, camera angling and matte paintings.
The Spidey suit is pretty lame. I mean Spidey has exposed web shooters, a belt, and the webs are just a rope tied together. (The Japanese also had an ala-Power rangers show with Spidey during this time which was a little better). Spidey spends all his time getting around by car (as Peter) and then crawls wall to wall. The fights were also pretty lame, but you have to admire the actual stunts executed. There is hardly no super-villains but just mere criminals Spidey tangles with in this series.
This was a true product of the 70’s….a lot of cheese and silliness! Loved it as a kid.
