Single episode release of the Mahoromatic anime series "Something More Wonderful"
< read all 2 reviews Both of the Mahoromatic series had they're touches of humor, naughty goings on, comical antics and sliding scale of comedy to drama not only as episodes progressed but as the series progressed. There was also that one thing Mahoro would reminds us of at ANY oppertunity and it was ironic for each series:
"Ecchi nano-wa ikenai-to omoimasu!"
I THINK DIRTY THOUGHTS ARE BAD!!
Mahoro is in the wrong show considering all the fan service and boob jokes they get away with.
Summer Special is just that, a little break from the series in a special episode release after Something More Wonderful ended, to show that last day of school for Seguru and looking forward to spending some quality time with his friends along with his "secret treasure" a large collection of pornographic magazines and art books (classy porn). Mahoro is getting a little miffed that no matter how many of Seguru's porn books she takes from him, he always comes up with more and it's decided: The girls led by Mahoro are going to organize and take away the boys porn once and for all and the boys being led by Seguru to keep it safe.
There isn't anything too memorable for this single epsiode short of the REEdiculous levels that Seguru will take to make sure his precious porn is safe and that includes island hopping. The finale to the episode where the secret is revealed is a highlight of the whole series. As far as episode quality goes, it's actually a little on the weak side compared to other episodes shown in either series but I LOVE both series so I still found something to like here.
The best way to recommended this show is to someone who enjoyed the other Mahoromatic series. If you liked them, this one is more of the same sans drama, it's all comedy. There are people who might pan it on that same regard in that the drama of the show is absent and it was a big part of the appeal.
A +4 for me. Released as a special after both shows had ended, it fit into the second series continuity evenly and almost anywhere (at least before episode 8 of Something More Wonderful where Seguru makes a remark about this episode having occurred) If anything it's too short and doesn't feel like an "event" just that one episode that slipped through the cracks.
