Ahhh Larry The Cable guy, sure his movies weren't big draws but the guy did still have stand up and television to fall back on, but the LAST thing anyone would think of with Larry would be an educational show. Larry is clever at times and downright ridiculous in others but I would never look to the guy to teach me things, but here and with the help of researchers for the show, he does.
Larry loves America didn't you know? Seriously, cut him and the blood will be red white and blue after you watch this show. What Larry knows is that from every corner of the country there is something interesting to see and experience and you can see it on the History Channel. From how some Cajun families live on the bayou to a Texas Fair known for it's deep frying of everything edible and Marine training or how truckers live, Larry sees it all and experiences it all. In between Larry cracks some jokes in front of the camera and with the people he meets. This is SURREAL when he's meeting with a Marine Drill Instructor on the obstacle course, and getting done telling us the DI's can't swear or hit the recruits.
The show runs an hour and gives Larry's fans enough of his comedy and getting something knowledgeable out of the show. Larry's non fans.........aren't going to watch, even for his minor bit of comedy that he gets in. Whats funny is the way Larry reacts to his situations like pickingcrabs at Fisherman's Wharf or getting stranded in a swamp.
I found a lot to be interesting like hearing that truck driver drive for 11 hours and take a mandatory 10 hour break (something like that) or how people in the swamp can live on frogs. What was most interesting is that Larry would say things that can teach me things other then jokes about fat people.
Everyones favorite redneck dimwit goes from the swamps of New Orleans to soap box races in Salem Oregon and everywhere else in between to see what makes the USA such a great place. Fun and at times educational show in between Larry's jokes and how much you think they are funny.
