"Greetings, American Investor!" and Other Gems

My fiance re-introduced me to The Simpsons when we first started dating.  My parents hadn't really allowed me to watch them as a child, saying that the "Itchy and Scratchy Show" was too violent.  What my parents failed to understand is that if I had watched "Itchy and Scratchy" as a child, I would have understood the social commentary of hyperbolic, glorified cartoon violence and would have been better equipped to face the world.  But, it was not meant to be.

I'd seen the odd episode of the Simpsons before I started dating the Big A, but never had I sat down and watched episode after episode after episode.  In doing so, I gained a greater awareness of the greatness of the Simpsons.

Take Mr. Burns, arguably the greatest character on the Simpsons.  He never fails to disappoint.  Every part of his physical image works to develop and support his character: his beady eyes, his three age spots, his twig-like fingers...he is TV's most hilarious and wonderful villain.

The Simpsons is, to quote its best character, "excellent."  Particularly good episodes are: anything centered around Mr. Burns, the Mr. Sparkle episode, and anything with Ralph.
Excellent.

Ha ... American Investor ... this is perfect for your home prefecture. Anything Ralph says is golden: I bent my wookie.

I agree, any episode primarily about Mr Burns is usually excellent. He's just too funny. Hahaha, and I keep cracking up at "Greetings, American investor!" LOL
