It seems like they keep coming out with new and interesting versions of sticky notes every time I turn my head. Working in an office, I was sent a sample of the 50-sheet See-Through stickies. There are definite applications for a sticky that one can read through, but I've found them to rather limited. For me, a regular sticky is good enough for 95% of what might need. But if you have a specific application they suit or are just really creative, these might be for you.
These plasticky stickies strike a good balance between transparency and visibility. You can definitely see them on whatever surface you place them, yet it is easy to read what is underneath as well. My major complaint would be that the normal ballpoint pens I've tried can have some trouble writing on them. If you "prime" the pen (squiggle a bit to get the ink flowing) before using, you shouldn't have any issues, but otherwise, writing can be spotty. Felt tip markers do a bit better, and even pencil shows up well. It's not a perfected product yet, but I do give the creators kudos for enabling them to take a variety of marks as well as they do. At their price though, I'd rather stick (no pun intended) with the original--unless I have a specific application in which I'd need a semi-transparent sticky note.
