It's no secret that I hate roaches with a hellish passion. But I do have a heart, and I do show them a little mercy killing once in awhile by offing them with Raid: Lemon Scented. At least I'm sending them to their graves smelling nice right?

Raid: Lemon Scented only has one difference between Fragrance Free Raid. And guess what? Yep, you guessed it. It has a lemon scent. Now you can murder vermin in style, and leave behind a nice fragrance that lingers for a little while.

The spray is still just as powerful as the regular one by killing roaches on contact. I haven't used it on ants since they're not a problem in my building. But I have used Fragrance Free Raid in one of my basements months ago on ants with promising results. I'm sure the results with this will be the same, since they have the exact same content of active and inert ingrediants.

The spray begins as a steady stream. The stream doesn't exactly have to make contact with the bugs to klll them. I have missed up to 4 inches away, and they still hit the floor begging for mercy. If for some reason you don't really care for the stream, it can be taken off by shaking the can and the spray will begin to spread. The spray also leaves behind a residue that continues to kill for a little awhile.

Since I use the spray often, and I buy it from my local hardware store by the boxes. I'm always learning something new about them. While exterminating a vacant apartment to prepare for repair and rental. One of the things I learned is to be careful when spraying over tiled or wooden panel floors, because they will become very slippery at first. Also, even though I didn't experience any negative effects, my father complained about dizziness and claimed it bothered his throat. Perhaps he's just allergic to something in the spray. So I recommend spraying the infested areas, leave, and return later to air them out.

Like the other Raid products, supposedly the spray will keep killing up to 4 weeks. Once again, this isn't true. I recently used the spray on a vacant apartment, about 2 weeks ago, and the roaches have already begun to return. But let's be straight about this, you have to do a little more than just spray your home to keep any type of vermin out. Cleanliness is your only real defense against these pest. Some folks I have met along the way just have a problem with cleaning at least once a week much less three.

Here's a list of tips that I came up with, and give to all my tenants in the building. I use them all year round, and I do not have a roach problem. Several of the folks who do use them are no longer complaining about heavy roach infestations. Therefore, something must work here, but whether you use them or not is up to you.

-Wash all your dishes before going to bed. Roaches love dirty dishes, and the night time is when they creep, and the day time is when they hide and multiply.

-Always toss the trash out at night, no matter how lazy you may feel. If you drink a beverage from a can or bottle, wash it out with hot water then throw it away. Especially beer, for some reason roaches are heavily attracted to it.

-Never keep bundles of plastic bags stuffed underneath the sinks or cabinets. Roaches love to hide in that stuff, and when I've sprayed those areas. I would see hundreds or thousands every time. Stop being cheap, buy small garbage bags. Leave the large and extra large bags alone.

-Keep your apartment clean by mopping at least twice a week. But focus on the bathroom and kitchen. Clean all counter tops and sinks with some type of cleaner that contains bleach. If you have pets, then you might want to do these things more often.

-Use Combat about a week and a half after bombing, I'm guessing it does something.

-Bomb the home quarterly, I do this quite often and I'll see a roach once in a blue moon. But I honestly haven't seen one in months.

Pros:
-Kills roaches on contact, nice smell

Cons:
-Does not kill up to four weeks, can is worthless if trigger is broken

Wow, you sure do know your bug sprays! Fortunately, I've never had a huge bug problem of my own beyond ants, but at my second home in Florida.... Oh man. I'm going to have to pick up some of this stuff when I go there in conjunction with the roach motels. Thank you!

Dealing with these creepy crawling interlopers I have no choice. Dev I tell you, I been in some filthy apartments where the roaches have jumped on me when I tried to do work under sinks. Deal with them long enough and you'll become a pro.
