The third book in the "Twilight Saga" by Stephenie Meyer.
< read all 31 reviewsthis book is the most action and suspense filled yet in the saga. Edward and Bella's' peace and quiet after their near death experience with the volturi in Italy dosen't last long. Bella's arrangement with carlisile to change her into a vampire after her graduation is wearing on Edward, since its not what he wants, but he knows it must happen because of the volturi. also his girlfriends obsession with her best friend is getting to him in the form of jealousy. it doesn't help that Jacob is completely non-relenting in his fight for Bella. even though she is with Edward and anyone can see shes not going anywhere Jacob insists on making plays at her and pushing Edwards super self control to the limit. then in the middle of the book the major twist comes in! the Cullen family learns they are going to be attacked by a large group of bloodthirsty newborns created for the purpose of revenge by the one and only Victoria. in the next few chapters we actually get to see the Cullen's as...vampires! they are learning to fight, and planning attack strategies. we also get to find out more about both jasper and Rosalie's' former lives. and also right before the big newborn battle comes my favorite part (mostly because of my dislike of Jacob) Bella finally agrees to marry Edward and let him be the one to change her (all for a very human hormone driven cost lol) one of the downsides to this book for a lot of readers is that it seems like the entire book is leading up to this one battle. there is lots of talking and planning for the big finale that really only takes up about 3 chapters. after all the preparation you would expect something a little big bigger, but the point gets made regardless.
