After reading Kitty_Salinas' micro review I though it would be helpful to share how I deal with the over tweeters or TMI'ers. Below is my six step program that I have been using for a few weeks and it seems to help. Stop sending them to your device via SMS (in my case the iPhone), they talk way too much to be constantly notified of their updates... I have a love-hate relationship with twitter. Everything about twitter is a catch-22 to me. I joined Twitter over a year ago because my friend insisted on it. I didn't understand what it was. It was explained to me as "like the facebook status all the time". I'm not afraid to admit it, I'm completely addicted to Twitter. OK, maybe I lied a little in my review title. When I first heard about Twitter - I'll admit - I was hesitant to sign up. twitter's value is all dependent on how you use it. some people follow just celebrities and news feeds, and receive value from the service that way. i, personally do not see that as beneficial. however, if you find people that are in your field, vocation or hobby, and actually use the service to interact with those groups of people, you can gain valuable connections. i also don't think twitter is for everyone. i only really started enjoying … more

When I first heard about Twitter, I really didn't get the appeal. Who really cares what I'm doing? It took me months to warm up to Twitter and to figure out why it was worth my time and attention. Professional social media people and people who are looking to increase the number of followers usually start mass following people, in the hopes that they will follow them back. The best way to enjoy this 140-characters-or-less social networking site (although I'd argue that Twitter has evolved into much more than just a website; mobile phenomenon, LIFESTYLE, etc.) is to "feed" it from other sites from time to time. Easy connectivity to web giants such as Facebook, YouTube, Last.fm & even Lunch.com makes for quite the effortlessly enjoyable tweeting experience.

Twitter is the ultimate instant gratification tool, with real-time updates on news both pressing, incredible and mundane. Sure, for every interesting tweet about a job opportunity or must-see I Can Has Cheezburger video, you’re also going to get less than riveting tweets about your followers’ day-to-day lives.
