This is a great invention with some major shortcomings and a few disappointments but overall I think the kindle is a great tool and I will use it for many years to come. I have even heard many say that it encourages them to read more, and that may be true simply out of the convenience that this device delivers. Cons (Minor annoyances) 1. Purchasing a Kindle was by far the best decicion I have ever made when it comes to my reading! I love how portable and lightweight it is! I am able to store thousands of books on it and it will always keep my place. If I keep the wireless off, the battery will last me a week or more. Hey, after months of research and deliberation, I have chosen NOT to buy a Kindle. Why? In southwestern Montana (from Missoula to Butte), it is nearly impossible to get a wireless connection! We thought we had the Kindle 2 (U.S. version) figured out. It uses Sprint and I knew people who had a Kindle who had no trouble downloading their books. I got one of these several months ago with the hopes of being able to put a decent amount of school reading on it. The price of an etext compared to a hard copy is much cheaper if you read enough to make the purchase of an ereader worth it and after doing my shopping I think the Kindle is the best. Ok hate to mess with the experience that is cracking a fresh or antiquated spine but having those words at your finger tips and not the weight of hundreds of books, cheap access to many books, I think we've moved to this as a new chapter.

I love the Android Kindle app. I've wanted a Kindle for awhile, but couldn't justify the cost. Now that my Droid has the Kindle app, I can get all the benefits of having a Kindle without actually having to buy and carry one. I always have my phone with me anyway, so I don't even have to pack anything extra!

The kindle 2 from Amazon.com in a wireless device that allows you to carry thousands of books with you wherever you go. It's great for quick reading while in waiting rooms, long car rides (unless you're driving! lol), and especially on vacation. I am currently reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, and it is simple to just wirelessly download the next book when I am done. My wife has had a Kindle 2 since they first came out. I hemmed and hawed over getting a Kindle simply because I read a lot of magazines.
