Much Better than The Prior Belt I Had

I recently went from an Ipod Nano to the Ipod shuffle. I needed something to be worn on my upper arm as I do a lot of activity at the gym and the "wristwatch" type of belts that Apple offers would just cause the earbuds to get snarled and caught on gym equipment. This product seemed to have good reviews from Amazon so I decided to a chance. This device has several advantages over the one for the Nano that I had:

- The strap is incredible soft as compared to the Nano strap that was more like a briefcase strap and had a plastic clip that sometimes cut into the skin.
- The cover on the Shuffle provides padded protection to the unit. The Nano cover was just a rubber skin, affording no protection if dropped.
- The cover affixes closed through a snap. The skin that was on my Nano would move around and sometimes come off. The cover also stays put on the strap. The Nano cover used to move on the strap which was annoying.

Overall I am happy with this device and the price is reasonable.

Oh, cool! Why did you choose to get a case over the clip that is built into this? I'm considering switching over to Shuffle for my workouts since my iPhone is so darn heavy...

Debbie, I had tried keeping the armband I had for the Nano. I tried clipping it to the band. This made deep indentations in my arm because of the clip in the back of the Shuffle. For the gym, the upper forearm makes the most sense because I can go through all my different workouts without the wires from the earbuds catching. Also, I can see the face of the Shuffle easier from my forearm. The devices sold in the store are mostly watchband type. I conducted a search and the device I settled was fairly inexpensive (about $18 with shipping and tax) and had excellent reviews so I went for it.
