I have always been a Windows/Linux guy and have typically shunned the Mac universe. However, as a musician I have in recent years seen Mac become the industry standard for recording and thus I decided to sell off a bunch of my recording gear and re-invest in a MacBook Pro.
Man, oh Man do I love this computer! It is quickly replacing my Windows machine in all aspects of computing. Not only is it great for recording music, but the overall user experience is much more intuitive than I could have ever imagined. Most importantly as a developer the platform far exceeds my expectations.
Since this is my first review I thought I'd keep it short and sweet. Perhaps I'll shall elaborate in the near future. ;)

I have been a Mac guy almost since Mac first came out. My first Mac had 1mb of memory and memory at that time cost $50 per mb. Think about what 2-4 gb would have cost? I am the only Mac guy in my office and I have never had a virus or a break down. My other PC friends are constantly calling for help. If you have not had a Mac you have not lived. I have a G4 laptop and a G5 desktop all running Tiger 10.4.11. Still not ready to jump to Leopard as a new OS will be out prior to Christmas. If I was getting married again one of my requirements would be my wife would have to be a Mac woman and not smoke. Drink all you want but do not blow smoke on my Mac.
The new Mac Pro. With up to 12 cores of processing power, it's the fastest Mac ever. Gallery Up to 12 cores of raw power. Configure your Mac Pro with 4, 6, 8, or 12 cores of processing power and boost performance up to 1.5x.
Am typing this on mine. Highly reliable, excellent computer - as have been all of the Macs I've owned since about 1987. MacPlus, Powerbook(s), iMac(s), iBook, this one and a MacBook Air.
My husband is a mac user to the bone. I have never had any trouble with the macs in this household. The mac laptop that he had lasted him several years until it just wouldn't boot up anymore. We haven't replaced it yet but we a still looking at mac books.
Ahhhh! The Mac- I can't say enough about it- as a matter of fact I love it so much ( and am apparently a darn good marketeer) that three members of my family (aunt and 2 cousins ) have found their way into the Apple store and have purchased Macbook's themselves. I was first introduced to this little piece of computing heaven when I began my new teaching gig. Everyone, including the students is issued a Macbook Pro. After my get to know your Macbook Pro lesson (offered by … more
