Best album of the decade

Ghostface Killah's hip-hop epic manages to move from crime narrative to life on the streets to general bizarreness like a dream sequence involving Spongebob banging the Eisleys. It's catchy, it's hardcore, it's personal, and it's massive.

Perhaps most importantly, it resurrects the Wu-Tang Clan, who had been in danger of becoming a punchline. "9 Milli Bros" guest stars the whole Clan - even Old Dirty Bastard, posthumously - and shows how hot the Wu-bangers can still come. But that's just one highlight on an album full of them: "Shakey Dog" is a stunning, dense crime drama, "The Champ" the epitome of battle-rap, "Mama" a deeply affecting paean to black mothers. If you're at all interested in hip-hop, this album will blow you away.

Epic review. I had the pleasure of watching them live last year. The venue was tiny and crammed with sweaty college kids. Nothing flashy and very little advertising. Best concert of the year.

A buddy of mine is a huge Ghostface Killah fan and has all his stuff. He was blasting that album while we were getting gas the other week. From what I heard of it, it was good.
