Life, Liberty, and Justice for all!
Today that has changed and I am no longer included in this.
The rights of my friends, my loved ones, and myself have been taken away.
All because some people do not like the fact we are GAY.
Do we not bleed, Do we not feel, Do we not cry just like you
Who is someone else to decide whether or not our love is true.
All people are created equal! No truer words have ever been spoken
But now based on hate, our rights have been broken
We are not all the same, were not all treated fair
And worst of all, you don’t seem to care
This is not our choice, or a lifestyle, this is the way our All Mighty designed us to be
To question and hate his creation makes you sacrilegious, not we!
No hate comes from our side, no violence towards you
We just want the same right that you’re granted to
Wrong and Unnatural are words I hear a lot
You hate based on differences!
Is this not worse than gay marriage being taught?!
To pass down prejudice and hate, rather than love and acceptance is what you are teaching our
Young ones,
All we want is to get married, and somehow we are viewed as the wrong ones.
I am who I am, and I won’t change for anyone, I couldn’t even if I tried
I have too much dignity, I have too much Pride
Pride for myself and for all people just like me
Open your eyes, I just wish you could see
The differences that divide us are tiny compared to the beliefs that we share.
So I ask you; please don’t judge, please don’t hate, Please take me up on this dare!
Our love is true and our will is strong
One day we will get back what you say is wrong
Gay does not destroy the sanctity of marriage!
It brings it back to its truest form
Not based on money, or a night of drinking in Vegas
But based on the love, and a lifetime of commitment that two people share
We stand strong, united, the power of one
And with these last words of “EQUALITY FOR ALL” I am done.
