& I've got a review to do! For the record, mine is the first review on Lunch for YouTube!?

I'm definitely not an early adopter when it comes to YouTube...
It's like sashimi, it's an acquired taste. When YouTube was first introduced to the web many years ago, it didn't grow on me. It still hasn't. Occasionally, it opens up the world for me. And I love looking into the world. That's what YouTube does.

Now that I'm into blogging, tweeting  & streaming media, YouTube comes into play. No one can escape it's influence; not Larry, not Oprah, certainly not me! YouTube is not just a media player, neither is it just entertainment, it is a blogger's dream come true. I remembered the first time I saw it used on mainstream media (Shanghaiist); it is a great tool to illustrate a story or a piece of news. More recently, I found some old stuff (like the memorable Somewhere in Time's Rhapsody on a Theme of  Paginini) while blogging. And, with last week's Susan hitting the jackpot, YouTube is fast becoming the Success story!

I find YouTube great as a tool, best if you already know what you are looking for. Otherwise, it's too big a site and can be daunting for those just browsing for videos to watch. That's just my initial personal opinion as I haven't really navigate around the site that much. All I had done was searching for videos related to the theme I'm working on or blogging about.

P.S. After my 100th reviews, I'm happy to upgrade YouTube.com to a +5. It's incredible helpful when one knows what one is looking for, if not the videos concerned, it is the field of expertise. There are many documentaries on YouTube which I otherwise wouldn't have a chance to see where I'm. So, am grateful and happy to announce YouTube to be a fine information source. You do have to explore a bit and also have an idea of what to look for.

There is a lot to love about YouTube.  It gives you the freedom to choose your own entertainment programming (not from hundreds of channels, but from millions of video clips).  It also gives you the platform to share and distribute your own programming (entertainment or otherwise).  It was truly groundbreaking on both accounts and it is the early mover advantage in these two areas that will enable YouTube to have a lasting presence on the web.    The …

Just like the Wikipedia Black Hole, it's easy to get lost down a Youtube Black Hole from constantly watching interesting videos.

About this website

Wiki

YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. YouTube was created in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees.[1] In November 2006, YouTube, LLC was bought by Google Inc. for $1.65 billion, and is now operated as a subsidiary of Google. The company is based in San Bruno, California, and uses Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos. Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by members of the public, although media organizations including CBS and the BBC offer some of their material via the site.
