It's hard to believe that Duke Nukem was once supposed to be the Future of Action Games Forever. It's also an irony, because "forever" is also the amount of time his latest game took to develop, as great care was apparently taken to remind us of that in said game, Duke Nukem Forever. A further irony is added by the fact Duke Nukem Forever may well go down in history known as the game which killed … more
Ya know Lunchers I'm going to share something with you, I wasn't always a Nintendo gamer; in fact my first console ever.....................was actually a Sega Genesis. After the Sega came PS1, it was a great little console that thing, I had a good library of games and everything was good. Then i made he transition to Nintendo and I have been there ever since. What … more
You know a game's a classic if it's almost 10 years old and still manages to do more things right than many other contemporary titles out there. The graphics, though dated, still haven't lost the incredibly lush quality they had back on the original Xbox. The gameplay is ferocious; ridiculously fast paced, intense and full of depth. It cuts to the bone in ways that GOD OF WAR and its multitude … more
In the great race of space bad guys in video games who are all out to destroy the Earth, the Sinistron is unique. Instead of being an entire squadron of aliens, the Sinistron is just one enemy. Just one. So what's the problem? Well, he's a big 'un, who is out to lay waste to our home planet after gobbling up Pluto as a snack, like some kind of budget version of Galactus. The … more
Light, stylish, and can hold a charge from now to thy kingdom come, The WiiU gamepad Pro is a more traditional design when compared to the radical WiiU gamepad. Closely resembling an Xbox 360 controller. While I don't have one I have used it on many occasions, and it feels great. Unfortunately if developers continue to support the Classic Controller Pro then I won't be buying one of these. Sorry Nintendo. … more
I've been playing Video games for a long time, and of all the controllers i've used the gamecube controller is easily my favorite. (followed closely by the Xbox 360 controller). This controller feels perfect for playing racing games. Its kinda big but still has all the buttons within reach of you're fingers. And buttons, buttons galore. 22 different inputs. I also liked that these controllers came … more
KingreX32 posted a Quick Tip about WiiU Gamepad.
August 09, 2013
They call it the swiss army knife of controllers, and they are right. The WiiU gamepad is in a class of its own. Off the top this things got built into it a 6 inch touch screen, NFC reader, Accelerometer, gyroscope, built in universal remote for televisions and cable boxes, speakers, a front facing camera, volume control and headphone jack. The controller allows you to continue playing a game if you … more
KingreX32 posted a Quick Tip about Watch_Dogs.
August 07, 2013
Don't ask me how, Don't ask me why, but when I first saw this game at E3 2012, it was love at first sight. I loved the game, and when it was announced for WiiU, I knew at that moment I had to own it. I HAD TO OWN IT!!!! So yesterday I pre ordered it. By November this game will be mine. Maybe I will review it, Im not sure yet.
I tried to play the first Assassins Creed game, it was slow and kind of boring but could be fun at times. When I got my WiiU I decided that I wanted to give the series another chance, so I decided to buy Assassins Creed 3. I played it, I loved it., LOVED IT!!!!! So when I heard the announcement for Assassins Creed 4 naturally I got super excited. Something I really loved from AC3 was the Naval Missions … more
Overview Quake is a 1996 FPS from iD software, legendary developers of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. It was one of the first PC titles to offer a fully 3D world instead of the 2.5D graphics which were popular with FPS games at that time. During the development of this game there was a lot of internal strife at iD software (leading to John Romero being fired, and going on to develop … more
Earth's future in intergalactic relations, if video games are to be believed, can be summed up thusly: We're the neutral, laissez faire good guys. The aliens are convinced that our otherwise mundane existence is somehow a threat to theirs. Real reasons are rarely given; perhaps they're like the Vogons, who needed to destroy Earth because it stood in the way of their highway. In the end, though, it … more
When Donkey Kong Country became a huge, runaway hit for the Super NES (as if it could ever have been a failure), you had to know more was right down the line. Would video game-playing adults like to have a version of Donkey Kong Country to carry around with them as they traveled? Of course they would! The practical problem, though, was that all Nintendo really had as a portable console at the time … more
Overview Bioshock: Infinite is an FPS-RPG developed by Irrational Games, creators of System Shock 2, Bioshock and Freedom Force. One of the most anticipated titles of the year and recommended playing for anybody that liked the first Bioshock, or any shooter for that matter. Story Introduction and Premise You are Booker DeWitt, former Pinkerton agent deeply … more
RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Crysis 2.
March 24, 2013
While Crysis 2 isn't quite as good as its predecessor, this is a solid sequel. The only real drawback to the game is that the "open world" factor has been cut back a bit and there's less versatility in what vehicles you can take control of. However, it earns some big points with its more solidified, developed storyline, meaner enemies (particularly the Seph creatures), … more
Please note that this review is for the Sega Genesis port of Bubsy the Bobcat. Bubsy the Bobcat is one of those games in life where you love it as a kid, but hate as an adult after replaying the game and realizing just how bad it is. Back in the 90's, this was a game I played a lot and actually thought was fun back in the day. However, just like I said earlier, looking … more
My favorite thought about playing the original Ratchet and Clank was, "Finally, an actually, honest to god mind numbing action title!" Thankfully, it turned out to be more than a hiccup. It turned into a semi-iconic video game series for the Playstation 2, and one of the last identifiable console mascots. (Although their being a console mascot has more to do with them being exclusives on Sony's machine … more
RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Batman & Robin.
December 11, 2012
Holy motherfucking shit. Batman & Robin by itself was an abysmal movie (one of the worst ever), but there was an actual videogame adaptation of it? I suffered through playing this one a long time ago on a forgotten portable gaming device called the Game.com, and this game was loaded with butchered gameplay mechanics and goofy sound effects. I can't believe … more
RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Shaq-Fu (SNES).
October 17, 2012
Easily among the worst videogames ever made. The 90's was Shaq's decade to throw his image all over the place, and not even the videogame world was safe, since this absolute disgrace to fighting games came out in 1994. Take away the absurd storyline of Shaq fighting a bunch of supernatural creatures, and you got yourself a fighting game with horrible, horrible … more
RabidChihuahua posted a Quick Tip about Bubsy 3D.
October 17, 2012
Uuuuhhgghh!!!! I sampled a little of this game recently and I had to quit after a few minutes. Even for a game made at a time when 3D videogames were fairly new (1996), the graphics on this game are ATROCIOUS. The color scheme in this game looks like an incomplete 3D game prototype for the Atari Jaguar, and the game controls are totally mutilated. It also … more
This was a game I liked when I was a kid, but reflecting on it as an adult, I now think Bubsy sucks. Being a game that tried to cash in on the popularity of Sonic the Hedgehog, this is a "ripoff" game that doesn't even get the basics right. Two of the worst flaws of this game is the "floaty" physics and the health system. The poorly-executed … more
