Chips and Snacks that Help You Pass The Day (Or Work)

  • Aug 1, 2010
Chips...we all have a fascination for them at one time or another. Some eat them to pass the time, some have them while watching a movie, while some eat them as part of their meal. We are all familiar with the chips and stuff in America, so I thought I'd share some of the more (shall we say exotic?) chips that I have come across...
1
Chippy
The corn chips made from the Philippines. It resembles the taste of Fritos from Lays but it is a little more spicy; but way less salty. Pretty darn good if I say so myself.
2
Clover Chips
Chips made from cheese. When I was a kid, I would not share this with anyone LOL!
3
Sun Chips
Out of the American-made chips, this is my fave. Goes along great with sandwiches!
4
Kropeck
This is the chip that I would have to say is very filling, and may be eaten with fried rice. I actually don't eat this as a snack but more of "when I am skipping dinner".
5
Banana Chips
The Banana as a chip....what else is there to know?
6
Mango Chips
Not crunchy, but more of the fruity side. Quite good as long as you love mangoes!
7
Boy Bawang
Dried corn and loads of garlic?! The Bane of vampires. Spicy and fun to munch on! Great with beer...
8
Yan Yan
Who can forget this? Chocolate sauce, strawberry or vanilla....I am in!
9
Fish Crackers
Not bad, very similar to the shrimp chip. Real fun to eat.
10
Dried Squid
Real squid--dried, sauced and cooked to perfection..in a chip form!
11
Hopia
The Asian pastry that can serve either as a snack or even as something to munch on. Be careful, it can be real filling....comes in bean (mongo) and pork form.
12
Dried Watermelon Seeds (Butong Pakwan)
My parents used to love this while they watched television. The noise it makes when you crack them open can be...a little testing LOL!

What did you think of this list?

I love unsweetened organic banana chips. Typically, my chip preferences are more conventional and limited to low sodium potato chips and corn tortilla chips.

Me too. But they're fun to try every once in awhile. You should try Hopia--pretty good snack. I think you'll like the mango chips...
