Ice Cream Heavenly Goodness...

I know! I know! It is cold in the U.S. these days but for some reason I still crave ice cream from time to time. Some ice cream flavors are great for snacks, some for desserts while others are even great just because. There are some flavors of ice cream I really enjoy, some I wouldn't mind driving to the supermarket. I usually have some when I'm frustrated or feeling blue. I've decided to make a list of some of my faves. Please remember: "With great Ice Cream comes Great responsibility" ...otherwise you'll need to buy looser jeans! LOL
1
Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice-cream
Brownies mixed with ice cream. In my opinion, one of the best flavors in the Ben & Jerry's line. I try hard not to finish the entire pint. A true guilty pleasure!
2
Selecta Ube Macapuno Ice cream
A Filipino ice cream that is based off purple yam and sweetened coconut. Awesome for parties and gatherings! I never have my fridge without a half gallon because my friends just love it!

3
Magnolia Avocado ice cream
Another award-winning ice cream in Asia. It is an exotic type of ice cream that really tastes like avocado and I love avocado!

4
Godiva Belgian Chocolate ice cream
The Best way to describe this is the smooth texture of Haagen Dazs and the taste of Ben and Jerry's. You can just taste the natural German Cocoa and amazingly it isn't heavy in the stomach.

5
Selecta Langka Ice Cream
A Tropical ice cream based on sweet purple yam and Jackfruit. So friggin' good!
6
Cherry Garcia Ice-cream
The ice cream that requires very little introduction. Many love this flavor from Ben and Jerry's...I know I am one of them.

7
Selecta Double Dutch ice cream
This ice cream has won several awards in Asia and Europe no joke! Fattening as hell...proceed with caution...but great as hell!
8
Haagen Dazs Caramel Cone
This ice cream tastes like the Spanish Custard made from Egg yolk with caramel.
9
Haagen Dazs Green Tea Ice cream
This is pretty safe; not a lot of fat and the calories is pretty decent. Not too sweet but really refreshing!
10
Haagen dazs dulce de leche
one of the company's most popular flavors!

11
Dreyers French Silk Slow-churned ice cream
I don't know what slow-churned means...but it must be great to make ice cream this great! I made the supreme mistake of over-indulging that I had to work out and diet for a week.

12
Trader Joe's Mango & Cream Bars
Need I say more? Odd delicious mix of ice cream and sorbet. Mango rules!
13
Nestle King-sized Drumstick
great for snacks and warm sunny days! The flavor is either vanilla and chocolate!

14
Haagen Dazs Mango Ice Cream
I am sure you noticed that I like Mangoes and this tropical ice cream made by the "dazs" is smooth in texture and have some mango bits...real good!

I don't often say "dude", but dude... So not cool posting this right before lunch!  I especially want #2, #3 and #5 right now.  I'm going to have to go to Ranch tonight and see if they've got the Magnolia avocado! :D
January 27, 2010
ha-ha! For # 3 and 5, if the Magnolia one is sold out, the Selecta one is real good too! It's just that for some reason, I plugged the Magnolia brand. You are going to hate me for this; I just had some of # 3 after Lunch ;-D

Just picked myself up some Magnolia taro ice cream with coconut in it. No longer hatin' ;P
February 01, 2010
Dang...that is one good flavor! no avocado?
February 02, 2010
Instead of avocado ice cream, I sprinkled sugar over half of a chilled, fresh avocado and spooned it out :D

Oh, great. Now I'm hungry again. Your next list better be a a list of vegan health food and various exercises to get thin! LOL!
January 27, 2010
That's easy...I try to do 12-14 miles on the stairmaster a week so I just eat anything!
January 27, 2010
Really, that's all? My metabolism used to be great, so I could eat anything and not gain a pound, but the past year I seem to have no metabolism whatsoever. I'd probably have to do about 10 miles a day in order to get back into shape.
January 27, 2010
well, the stairmaster is harder than the elliptical and the threadmills, so if you run on it for 25 minutes, you lose about 450-500 calories. I used to run on it 4x a week until I hurt my knee, then I had to slow down.
January 27, 2010
When I was living at my first apartment I would go for 10 to 15 mile walks almost every night, but that was a long time ago. Now I'm exhausted after about 7 or so and I end up being sore the next day. I'm too young to be this tired. LOL!
January 27, 2010
wait till you reach my age...try to do some weight training (light weights w/ more sets and reps) 21 sets of 18 reps with 7-8 different exercises under an hour. I know I need to get back to my routine.
January 27, 2010
oh, 80-100 pounds, 120-150 on the lateral pull on the last sets.
January 27, 2010
Yeah, it's on my endless to-do list. ; )

Ummm. Cherry Garcia. I was introduced to via LAW & ORDER. I figured that any ice cream good enough to be mentioned on my favorite Michael Moriarty show deserved my immediate attention. I also love their pistachio, mint chocolate chip, and they used to make a double chocolate fudge swirl that would satisfy anybody's craving for chocolate but I haven't seen it in awhile. Plain old strawberry is great too.
January 27, 2010
Really? that is some great stuff! I think I saw that episode. IMO Ben and Jerry's really do make the best ice cream in America. The double chocolate fudge swirl is still around I think, just not in every store. Not a big fan of mint but plain strawberry is awesome!
January 27, 2010
I'm not much into the exotic fruit flavors, but, yeah, strawberry! Yum. I wish I could find a place that had that chocolate fudge swirl. I wonder if they have a hotline.
