If I was Going to Date ♥n Valentine's Day....A Practical List!

Ok, Valentine's day is looming. Women usually look forward to this day while guys dread of forgetting this day especially if you're married, in a relationship or just have that special friend. The day has been promoted by the media as "a day for Love" and while the title is too commercial (the practice started to drive business), people have made this an unofficial tradition. I don't like going out on Feb. 14, I think it's too hokey but I would do something just to put a smile on that 'someone's face'. Keep in mind this is what I would do if I was at least in a serious one-year old relationship...

Roses are a must for Valentine's day. It doesn't matter if you send one or three or a dozen, but girlfriends love getting flowers. I usually go for her favorite flowers rather than roses. Oh, if you're married, give the wife some perfume instead or better yet, a giftcard!

Well, the women I've dated doesn't exactly like chocolates, but it does have its purpose...she can share it with her friends! Nothing better than to get some points with her friends! LOL yep, it is necessary. Guys who are married, remember: She never gets Fat! LOL!

"The best way to someone's heart is through the stomach"...works both ways. Us men like to eat and women like to eat! Valentine's day is too expensive to get reservations for and combined with the other stuff, it can get outrageous! Me, I usually cook her favorites (if I knew) and I usually have her come over my place. Oh, it's ok, if you don't get it perfect, the effort matters. Married men usually know how to cook or at least pretend they know how to cook LOL! Can't cook? well...

...you can get her guilty pleasure! You can get take out from her fave restaurant (not so expensive) as long as you have her most fave delicacy. I once dated someone who prefers Asian gourmet pork rinds (chicharon bituka) to chocolate, it works! especially when she doesn't know you know her weakness... ;-P

After a hard day's work she'd like to relax, prep a bubble bath along with wine (the one you asked her to bring). I have no idea why chicks dig this but I don't want to find out. While she's in the bath...

...play her the compilation cd you made for her. Remember, this is supposed to be for her; NOT for you. Well, I envy the guy who is dating a woman who likes NIRVANA, METALLICA and the crazy J-Rock stuff! Trashcanman's "sounds like awesome" cd is advisable (if she's as twisted as me) LMAO. You can play the cd while you have dinner together too.

After dinner and dessert, and after all the talking, she'll probably want to relax. Show her a movie that tickles the emotion...this is a great movie! I hate romantic comedies but I appreciated this one. Show her the American remake and you won't get lucky, go for the Korean original! ;-)

LOL...don't know what this has to do with the other list but, I love it. Now, as you know, I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day but, this list is awesome! You know me, I love a good mixtape but, I also love this whole list- way to hit it out of the ballpark, Woo. So now we know how you woo your ladies ;p I'd also sub 300 for the Batman Begins, half naked Greeks are also a good compromise lol

I absolutely LOVE this list!! You are so witty and I can't see a woman not being grateful for anything you have to offer! I would skip the Kill Bill movie though LOL The idea of fixing dinner yourself is wonderful, although going out is also a good thing. Women appreciate the effort no matter what (well, at least me anyhow cause I am not picky and am very appreciative of anything!) The bubble bath and wine would be my favorite, but remember that romance can always start in the bathtub! What can I say about the edible lingerie but yyyummmmmmmmm........great idea if there is romance involved....notice I said "romance" LOL and the massage; nothing better than that to relax and put you in the mood, and yes, a loving gentle touch is very important. As far as the sleeping after all that goes, be careful - don't go to sleep until after she does; that would be rude! LMAO You're great Woo -- love your lists and humor!!

ha-hah. Glad you enjoyed the list, Brenda. I like to goof around and make fun of myself every so often. My favorite part sure is the massage and the edible lingerie. LOL! As for falling asleep before she does--what if I became too tired from the cleaning, cooking and stuff? LOL! I like pampering the woman I am with; not just on this day but everyday. :)

That was so cool of you to put your thoughts on this day Woopak. I know a lot of people who dreads it and loves it. Since I became aware of Valentines Day it hasn't been a disappointment. I responded to each one, here is my take: 1). I love red roses and my favorite flowers are jasmine and tulips. Now if a guy gave me a gift card I won't fine that romantic, my husband hasn't done that………..yet….. 2). I love Godiva and you are right Woo-Woo This lady does not get fat from them. 3). I found men who cooks very attractive plus I love the fact that a man is willing to learn. My 8 year old son likes to hang around with me in the kitchen so I know he will benefit from it in the future. My husband knows how to cook and bake , as for me I'm not much of a Baker. 4). I love to go out and eat especially particularly to places I havn't been before so that's a A+ for me. 5).Sorry Woopak but speaking outside of the tub, Woman generally unwinds from taking them. The house I'm renting right now doesn't have one in the master bedroom but my kids does….such a bummer.. 6). Mix tap is a plus from the man you love….. 7). I love the fact you brought up this film and great choice. 8). That makes since it she like it why not give her more……… 9). Man Woopak How can a woman say no to you with a line up like this!....QT, What all the way baby ;-) 10). Bump that if She's down with QT she will love this too….you know I would…. 11). Nice………. 12). He doesn't have to do the dishes for me to put this on……Cute 13). That's not going to happen…. 14). I don't think any woman can say no to that…. 15). If that's even possible….

as usual, milady, you make me smile. what're you trying to say, Scot? As I've explained, V-day isn't a fave among women. Now stop whining about the women's negative reviews about this day. LOL! I think milady Jen would agree that their anniversary is much more important than V-day.

Yep, I've had tofu ice cream, but not lately. I'm trying to cut down on the soy consumption. Hmm, my guilty pleasure would have to be soda, actually. It used to be Silk mocha soymilk, but they've discontinued that flavor... :(

OMG, half the list is movies! If the guy I'm dating (after 1 year) takes me to a movie on Valentine's Day, I'll shoot him right away! I want a hands-on body massage!!! LOL......... That's what I call practical. Of course if he intends to take care of my credit card bills, the edible underwear is negotiable ;-)
