Movies I would Watch With My AWESOME MOM for Mother's Day!!

  • May 1, 2010
My Mom as everyone else's mom is awesome. She is a fantastic cook, she is caring, understanding and loving. But one thing I would Not forget about her is her love for cinema. My family loved movies; dad took me to the fantasy epics, Mom took me to the R-rated Horror movies and my brother took me to action flicks. Every Mother's Day I think about her, and I wonder what movie she would like to see for this day. My mother had passed away more than a decade ago, but if she was still around, I can almost predict what she would like to see with me on Mother's day...
My mom doesn't like the wimpy love stories but she prefers to see action and romance mixed together. James Cameron's creation would fit the bill.

Poster for the film.
My Mom would just be thrilled to see a horror movie of this caliber. She also understands Spanish so the subtitles wouldn't bother her.
See the full review, "Intense, Terrifying Simplicity that would grab you by the Throat and Never Lets Up...".
King Kong
Mother Would be attracted to tales of Beauty and the Beast! She would love to see that Kong- T-Rex duels!
Schindler's List (movie)
Mom likes to stay close to reality and this movie would just bring out the emotions so me and her can bond. I am pretty sure that this movie would make her cry again.
Original Film Poster
Mom likes the gangster shoot outs and a good story. She would be at home with this movie....
DVD front
Mom also likes to relate to what I like, so I am pretty sure she'll let me see something from my comic book collection.
The Exorcist
This is one of her favorites so I know she'll want to see it again.
Kingdom of Heaven (2-Disc Widescreen Edition)
Mom Loves Epic Swordplay so I know she will dig the director's cut
Eight Legged Freaks
My mom has a slight case of arachnophobia but I know she loves movies with spiders!
Cannibal Holocaust
Always wondered how mom would react to a movie like this? She said she liked it but she never took me to see it. Mother's Day is a good reason for her to see this again!
Mother's Day
My mom had passed away many years ago and I own some movies that brought me memories of her even though they're movies I wouldn't normally collect. Mom is awesome so remember her Mother's day! Next up...what I would do on mother's day.

What did you think of this list?

Awesome write-up about your mom - very touching that you can remember her in that way and that she influenced you enough to make this list. She sounds as if she was really awesome and she was lucky to have a son like you to remember her in such a way on Mother's Day. Bless your heart.....

Yeah man absolutely loved your list WP, there are some on this list that I actually got to see with my mom, others I know she liked, and others she never got to see. Excellent list my friend, and I am proud to say that. Happy Mother's Day to all out there but especially to those who like you and I know have lost their mom.

Wow, this one really evokes the spirit of traditional Mother's Day. I'm touched by this man. I'm really saddened though that your mom is not still with us today. She sounds like a really cool chick much like my moms & some of closest friends' moms if you could imagine that. Ironically, I played Cannibal Holocaust for my mother (though not on Mother's Day) and she actually liked it. Can you believe this is the same parent that walked me out of Mortuary at the local mall when I eight? Well, guess I was kinda young then so I can't fault her for that. Otherwise, I think she enjoyed the film. Great list & very heartfelt commentary. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

A sweet idea. I can feel from reading your list the love that you have for your mother and how you keep her in your heart even though she is no longer physically with you.

She sounds like a darned cool Mom.

Awwwwwwwwwww :) Too bad my mom isn't much of a movie person. She fell asleep during..... The Dark Knight. Which is FULL OF POWER. Nice list though. What a cool mommy!
